Prof Jaideep is a Chemical Engineer with over 25 years of Industrial Research and Development Experience mostly in development of Water Purification products for use in consumer homes. He has over 25 granted patents in this domain in multiple jurisdictions including EU, India, China, US, Australia, Brazil and Mexico among others. Prof Jaideep has a PhD in Chemical Engineering specializing in Colloids and Interfaces and has published several papers in International Journals. Prior to is PhD, he did his master’s in chemical engineering and worked in Process Control.

Prof Jaideep’s interests include Water Purification, Air purification, Depth Filtration, Reverse Osmosis, Capillarity and its applications, porous materials, Oil water interfaces, Process Dynamics and Control and Quantitative modelling. Prof Jaideep is a Life member of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IICHE) and the Indian Society for Surface Science and Technology (ISSST). He is also a member of the International Water Association (IWA) and the American Chemical Society (ACS). He has served as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT-Guwahati.

Prof. Jaideep currently has a PhD student, Mr Ravi Kiran Varma, working on the Reduction of water wastage from RO purification systems. He has served as Department Academic committee member during his current academic tenure. Prof Jaideep has served as External Examiner for M. Tech students at the Department of Chemical Engineering IIT, Bombay. Prof Jaideep’s interests include: Water Purification: Membrane and Depth Filtration; Reverse Osmosis; Disinfection; Air Purification: Filtration; Disinfection. Colloid & Interface Science: Displacement of oil from porous media, Surfactant separations, Surfactant Science, Foams, Oil-water Interfaces ; Mathematical Modelling.

Prof Jaideep has given seminars in several Institutes which include SESTEC, Mumbai, IIT Guwahati, ICT Mumbai, BITS-Pilani Hyderabad, Unilever R&D (Colworth, UK), Unilever R&D (USA), Unilever R&D (Bangalore & Mumbai), Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago (USA) among others. In 2022, Prof Jaideep delivered an Invited Plenary Talk at the annual meeting of WQIA (Water Quality India Association), in Bangalore. In November 2022, Prof Jaideep delivered an invited talk at SESTEC 2022, in ICT, Mumbai. Prof Jaideep has served as Adjunct Faculty, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Guwahati from 2015 to 2018.Prof Jaideep has served as reviewer for multiple International Journals such as Journal of Colloid & Interface Science; Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research; Colloids & Surfaces A; Langmuir; Environmental Science & Technology & Water Research. Prof Jaideep is a Life member of Indian Society for Surface Science & Technology (ISSST), Life Member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IICHE), Member of American Chemical Society (ACS), Member of the International Water Association (IWA) and has been a member of the Instrument Society of America (ISA). Prof Jaideep has been mentioned in “Marquis Who’s Who in Science & Engineering” for several years of the publication.
